2012 E70 Bluetooth Connection
My 2012 X5M has this weird connection issue with my iphone 10. It connects via bluetooth to the iphone and I'm able to receive calls and listen to music on my phone through the bluetooth. But I cannot use the console buttons to find phone numbers because phone book isn't available. I also noticed when i tried to add the phone it'll search forever and never finding the iphone. Even though I am able to receive and make calls through the car's speakers by using the buttons on the phone. Is this a bluetooth module issue or a combox module issue? I checked and made sure the firmware on the CIC unit is the most updated, not sure where to troubleshoot next. Much obliged! Theo

Tell it to only sync favorites and recent. You are likely overwhelming the address book. I see that a lot with customers.

You will have to remove and re-add device. I just did this for my phone a bit ago but seems no way to change after initial pair

Did that. Removed and then added, paired with 4 digit codes, and deselected sync contacts. CIC still shows connecting forever but never connecting.
INteresting enough, the bluetooth streaming works the minute bmw 27xxx shows connected on my iphone menu. Same issue as before for me unfortunately.

Combox is your bluetooth box. I have seen this happen on a couple of my combox that I got at junkyards. First, delete all paired phones from the X5. Then delete the previous parring on your phone. And re-pair. If it does not pair and say successful, then the combox may need to be reset.
I believe the issue is old pairings that are corrupt and you can no longer see them in the list of available devices. ISTA+ software can do a force delete of pairings. If that does not fully fix, NCS Expert can write a blank MAN file to reset the configuration. NCS can't delete the old pairings so ISTA+ must be used for that. You could find a local BMW coder on facebook who can fix this in a few minutes. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showp...25&postcount=8

Thanks! I will give it a shot.
I've downloaded the ISTA+ software. Will try and see if I can figure it out first. Much obliged!
