Left Side Marker Cable / Connector

Hi -
Was replacing the LEFT (Driver) side marker and when disconnected the unit, the cable/connector sprung back and went /fell inside.
Have been unable to find a way to pull it out (can't see or feel it); tried fishing it with a grabber and also a twisted wire; have looked from inside the engine bay with no luck (removed the cover but there is no access).
Has someone ever replaced the fender or has an idea of where the connector / cables come from (e.g. from which direction) so I can focus where to search for it?
Thx
(p.d. pic is not my car, but is the same side marker I was installing)

You can loosen the inner fender lining to get at it... but it's not fun. Wheel arch rivets need to be drilled out and lots of 8mm screws and pushpins.

Alternatively you could use a borescope (I own one for plumbing issues) to see if you can get a bead on it to have a general idea where to use your grabber tool. Borescopes are very handy to have around the house anyway, and cheap on Amazon.

Beyond those two options... just keep at it and hope to get lucky.

Mine fell in, didn't have much luck w/ bores cope or blind grabber (some bit of debris down there). I bought a set of LED ones from Amazon and love them. Not what you were looking for but, may help.
