low tire pressure warning causes

... besides low tire pressures(I promise I checked )

It looks like the goto culprit is the sensor in the valve but are there any other popular issues with this system? I've got one showing a false low and didn't want to throw money at it in the form of new valves without asking first.

Thanks for your time!

You must reset after filling the tires. We had TPMS error when ambient temperature dropped 30-40° and after topping off may need to reset

Just replaced sensors. Four factory BMW sensors (In the BMW box.) cost $60. Tire place charged $15 a corner to fit them. Don't know if it was good or bad but we have limited choices in the boonies and driving to a better price would defeat the object.

Any chance this was just the valve repair part and not the whole sensor?!?

Where'd you get the sensors? Amazon wants like $90-100.

Indeed, $15 each for BMW parts is an insane price....

There is a battery in each...when they start failing (like year 8,9,10) you will get errors.

Another recommendation is to buy a TPMS tool that interrogates the sensor. Since our TPMS is useless except as a low pressure warning, this tool allows you to readout the sensor serial number, tire pressure, tire temperature, and sensor battery level. The Autel MaxiTPMS TS401 and ATEQ VT55 TPMS are two such tools.

Just used my TPMS scanner to diagnose faulty sensors in my spare set of wheels.
