2009 BMW X5 Xdrive48i Hood Release, catch

The hood release cable on my x5 has snapped so I ordered a new one, but I am not sure how to install it. I have not been able to find a video or forum that talks about this cable. If you look at the diagram below, the cable I am referencing is #12, not #13. Anyone know what to do?

I assume you have the hood open?

If so, my guess is then its just a matter of looking at it and figuring it out.

I assume you have a conclusive diagnosis? Like youve seen the broken part? There is a single cable from the left of the driver inside the cabin (#15), that connects to TWO cables one to each side's latch (this is what you are calling #12) This 'connection' is at the driver side wheel wheel (In the engine bay)
