Anyone know what this is or what it does?


It's a 3.0 engine. When I shut down the X and get out, I hear a humming from that box that goes on for about 5 seconds, then stops and repeats after about 30 seconds, keeps doing that for a while. I'm guessing it's some time of air valve maybe, and possibly why she hunts to find idle when I first start her up.
