2013 X5 35D wiring help please

Hey guys, I have a 2013 X5 35d and am having issues with the 12vdc receptacles.

The front receptacle works, console and trunk don't.

I've tried changing the fuse and it pops immediately so I must have a short somewhere. I'm the second owner and this issue came with the vehicle.

Since buying the truck I've upgraded the head unit to a 12.3" Android and Bavsound speaker upgrade.

I'm at the point now I'd like to add something for a bit more bass, and would like to use the 12vdc plug in the trunk for a remote amp trigger, however this issue with fuses popping has been a problem.

Any suggestions on where to start to trace the wiring to figure out what's popping fuses? Could it be the actual 12v receptacle?

If I can't figure out what's popping fuses, does anyone have any other suggestions for a amp remote trigger wire that I could find in the truck of the vehicle?

Thanks

If it were me, as a starting point, I would disconnect each outlet one at a time, see if it is an outlet shorting? Not an end all/be all for solution /tracking, but could be a start and hopefully quick solution.

Thanks Ard, I think it is 113 but will have to check tomorrow.

Question... would "socket outlet, rear" be the socket in the console?

Yes- the one in the console is also powered with the one in the rear luggage compartment.

I might be getting a little bit ahead of myself here, but is there a trick for removing the plug socket in the console?

Yup.

I believe you need to remove quite a bit to get to it.

If you google the plug, you will see it is a permanent part of the front part of the console. I assume someone has a DIY or youtube...

So I popped out the console 12v socket and low and behold there was a dime welded inside it.. lol

I pried it out with a small screw driver, changed the fuse and everything is golden now.

Thanks for the help!
