X5M PCV bad?

I'm hoping someone knows a little more about the PCV system in the X5M (S63). I recently had the whole PCV system replaced, but noticed my oil consumption went from a quart every 1000 miles to around 400 with smoke if I idle for a while. I was hoping the new PCV system would've made things better, not worse.

So here's my question. If there is a good amount of oil in the connecting tube, the one that goes over the turbos, as well as the vent pipe that goes down to the intake manifold, does that mean I received defective vent valves? The other side of the large check valve to the turbo is dry (for each side).

The attached pic shows how much oil is in the tube that goes over the turbos. The pipe that goes down to the intake manifold is about the same.
