Bmw x5 e70 4.8i Rattle noise

Hi all first time posting.
I have a 08 x5 e70 4.8i that has a strange rattling noise coming from the engine.
It only seems to do it at low rpm and does not do it at idle or in park.
As soon as a put the car in drive or reverse the rattling starts but when i start driving the noise disappears any ideas on what this might be?

Wife's E53 did exactly like this. It was stones on the stiffening plate. Many people find a loose heat shield etc causing similar.

Have somebody in the car and change gears to reproduce while you listen in the engine bay
