Side mirror
My 2008 5 passenger side mirror no longer tilts in the verticle direction horizontally is ok I can get a pair of side mirrors on flea bay but they are from a later e70 the lei model I think as it has cameras I do not have the folding in option button on the switch panel on the driver side door my options are A. Just replace the actuator on the passenger side with the secondhand one assuming it will work not sure if connection is the same B. Buy anew actuator the dealers want $600 bucks double the price of secondhand pair of mirror complete C. Replace both mirror and the switch panel in the door not sure if my car will access the additional functions without rewiring ( folding in function would be good, cameras not really something I desire but if easily connected would be useful ) Any advice would be appreciated Ps I am in Australia Cheers Keith 2008 3.0d |

My '08 X5 mirror sticks in the tilted down position, usually after going full tilt after backing up. I can un-stick it by pressing on the mirror and simultaneously working the switch. Change the mirror selector switch so it doesn't automatically tilt down while backing up. There is a DIY on disassembling the mirror and lubing the mechanism. This might solve the sticking problem.
