Suspension Questions
I might compare prices of replacing all 4 front lower arms, versus just changing the bushings since I acquired a hydraulic press for nothing. I'll use Real OEM for the par numbers and see if it's even worth trying this route or not. Have any of you just replaced suspension bushings instead of the complete control arms? |

![]() Still have more questions. I want to lower my X5 just a bit, maybe using the H&R 1.2" drop springs on some new shocks. When it goes for an alignment, will they be able to adjust everything to spec? Or are there any additional toe/camber adjustment parts needed to do so? |

I haven't seen lowering with the e70. lots of e53 and usually they can only get a certain drop like 1" before custom control arms get involved.
I'd find a quality brand that makes the control arms and look for a complete kit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

No air springs in the rear.
I did order all new front lower arms, Bilstein shocks, H&R springs, and some other stuff too. Now have to find the time to install everything. Hoping the alignment shop can get everything into spec but if not I guess I'll be ordering more parts. |

FWIW...there are a TON of rubber parts that will begin to age, leading imperceptibly to sloppy feel.
A few years ago I did a total refresh on my (purchased new) E39 M5. Back to factory fresh. Problem is that it is a massive undertaking. its the control arm kit, then 2x more parts. guibo, steering links, motor mounts, all the bits that the struts sit in; rear subframe bushes, diff bushes, all the links. IMO your parts will do quite a bit, but just keep it in mind- depending on your goals, pocketbook and tolerance to $pain. ![]() I posted a very long thread on alignment over on BF. If you are so inclined. GL! |
