Engine Bay Partitions

I'm looking to replace all the engine bay partition pieces and the microfilmer housings on my 2012 X5. I'm not about to spend $$$$ on the OEM parts just to have them crumble to pieces again, so I'm wondering if anyone here has used the parts from eBay or Ali express? Yeah I know cheap china junk parts . But for the price, you can buy this stuff multiple times versus the OEM BMW parts, and it's easy to replace. I wish I would have ordered this crap a few months ago because I thought it was quite a bit cheaper overall. Here's a link to what I'm seeing: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32568...Cquery_from%3A

I'd have no problem using the knock off plastics but be prepared to widen holes etc to get the plastic rivets to line up.

I'd maybe stick with OEM just for the seal that goes at the leading edge of the triangle parts that's a fairly complex design with several types of material where the knock off likely will take shortcuts that will greatly reduce the effectiveness of keeping engine smells outs of the cabin intake

I’ve been using the eBay ones for 5 years in extreme hot weather and they are holding up well.

I just replaced mine with these from Amazon, they are cheaper than the Aliexpress ones (They are exactly the same as the Aliexpress ones) and you will get them quicker. There are a couple holes you need to drill or make larger but they fit perfectly, just compare the holes to the original and transfer over the foam seals on the bottom from the originals and the rubber gasket on top and save $400 over OEM.

Here's what I ordered: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32568...yAdapt=glo2usa

I also ended up ordering the small very outer pieces on each side. Mine were bad and were still allowing engine heat into the HVAC intake. Now I can have nice cool air coming in without added engine compartment heat.

AM.

I replaced mine many years ago before OE prices went insane. Id bet $$$ they had changed the polymer specs way back then, since mine are still perfect. The original ones from 2012 were crap. (My point is that if you buy OE today, you are not getting the same old formulation. No proof, just a sense.)

If I had to buy, I wouldnt 'invest' in OE....FWIW.

See that's why I was considering ordering the 8 piece kit from over seas. Then I can just replace all the pieces instead of the main 3 parts that you can find on ebay/amazon.

Maybe its cheaper/faster to order a 3 piece kit then the other separately?
