Reverse Camera not on

After leaving the car alone for a month, I noted the reverse camera does not produce an image on anymore. You can check it on or off when you put the car in reverse but the brightness is 0, contrast is 0, and you cannot change it. Nor do the guide lines appear.

All the sensors are good. I tested them all. But with my Autophix 7910 I have been reading E21F and E220 codes in the PDC section consistently though Autophix has no explanation for those codes.

I hope it is a loose connector somewhere, or is there a fuse I need to check? I read about reseting the Nav unit, did it, but it didn't help.

I found a document published by bmw that indicate the guidelines are generated by image processor. Is that processor in the camera or a controller elsewhere? See uploaded attachment.

Anyway, I am now interested in the location of the navigation controller unit in the E70. Can someone tell me if they know? Thanks in advance.

Autophix emailed back and said E21F and E220 are top and side camera communication timeout, PDC module. Chances of all three cameras dying is small. So have to figure where that module is...

If you can get to the TIS info there should be a chart showing where the modules are. The E53 has it in the trunk by the battery I think.

After more reading on the internet I think the module I need to access is called TRSVC (even though I don't have all the cameras) and I read it is in the front footwell. If someone else has different information please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Not necessarily to hijack the thread but:

Mine has developed an intermittent video (mostly blank) when going into reverse. When it does kick in, sometimes it's fine, sometimes there is static or sometimes it's off color. Where would be a good place to troubleshoot this sort of issue?

Hasn't been too much of an issue when my X5 was running (see rear diff threads) and was planning on doing an android tablet swap on the CCC anyways with camera but just curious.

OP, did you solve the camera issue? I had something similar going on. After seeing the prices for used camera modules I went with a Linux car play screen and GreenYi camera that have been good. Coding out the errors from this has been fun
