Hey everyone. Long-time-no-talk. I'm at about 220k frustrating miles now. Between my intake pressure sensor dying every 6 months, my EGR spring breaking (fixed with an external spring... it actually works great), my thrust arm bushings always going bad probably because I need new shocks and struts, a new FRM that likely isn't coded 100%, my adaptive headlight module also just went out... just to name a few things.
My bigger issue... while changing an injector the other day, I found one of the swirl flaps broke off and was stuck in the intake. Yes, the entire thing, rod, screws, and flap completely broke off. I have noticed reduced mileage, but it has been winter, I replace my thermostat and water pump, and with the injector failure (on the same cylinder...) I figured that was the issue.
I pulled out the flap, while the rest of the intakes were clean, this one had carbon build up. Likely due to significantly reduced airflow. One of the reasons I knew something was different a month ago was I started hearing a ticking sound in the engine. Now, I'm wondering if the rod and screws are just rattling around in the cylinder. How difficult is it to access?
I'm so tired of this stupid vehicle, it has been nothing but a headache since I've owned it. Yes, gets great mileage and has lots of power... but everything besides the engine and transmission are terrible.
