Put deposit down on 4.8i, should have it late nov.

hi everyone, ive been lurking the past few weeks, decided i would finally register and share the good news. here is a little bit of background. we have been a 3 car family with a corvette suv, and truck, the past few years, were having a baby at the end of sept., sold the vette.

my wife has liked the e53 x5 for a while and has always said it is her dream car. she currently drives a 2004 4runner. so we had decided we would get either an 05 or 06 4.8is a few weeks ago. i started calling about a few, problem was they were all really far away. so i was at work one night searching autotrader and had gotten info and numbers on a couple of them, then later that night........BAM, pics of the e70 showed up. needless to say, my post it with the e53's hit the bottom of the trash can pretty fast.

i had been waiting on the option pricing before heading to the dealer, and then when that surfaced last night, i was good to go. so i went to my local dealer today, and found out we will be getting their first new x5. order goes in oct 1. we are gonna be getting the 4.8 w/ premium pack, cold weather pack, rear climate pack, sport pack with 20's, comfort access, satellite radio, and probably running boards. sticker is around 65, 66k. gonna be a long wait, but i think having a newborn will pass the time pretty fast.

either black or silver havent decided for sure. i would like to have the tech pack but i dont think i will get my 2600 worth out of it. we always know where we are going so i think we would hardly every use it. would be more of a novelty than anything for us.

i think it is heated seats, heated steering wheel, headlight washers, and maybe a ski bag or something. we have also been thinking about getting the active seat package, do you guys think it would be worth the money? do ventilated seats really work?

We have ventilated seats on our 500sl which we drive in Maui. It really doesn't seem to make any difference. I don't think I would pay for that option if it was a stand alone option.

Thank you for your answer. We have the chance to order all those options you
described separately not as packages.About your question, most of the options concern different needs of drivers. So,if you travel a lot(long distances) you probably need the active seats and the ventilated seats. The latter is also essential if you reside in a sunny region(state). Please allow me to say if you have warm and sunny weather to avoid dark colored interior because it captures all the heat and the leather damages
