Steved is on a distinguished road
X6 or high-performance model E70

I was the first customer in the UK with my name down against an X6, but with the press launch of the new E70 X5 I'm getting an itchy cheque book. I would prefer to go for the X6 (in theory) since I don't need the extra size of the X5 and I've yet to read about the weight of the E70 but from what I've read (on the US press release) the weight is certainly no less than today's E53. But of course I still don't know exactly what BMW will do with the X6, how they will price it, or when it will be released.

If I were to order another X5 then there are none yet announced that I would choose. Moving from an 4.8is I would need to be looking at either the twin-turbo 4 litre V8 or a V10 version. What's the speculation on when these would be available? Anyone else deliberating over the option of a top-model X5 or X6?

I guess I would like to change no sooner than a year for now, but no later than 2 years from now. The X5 4.8is replacement might be within scope timewise but I'm starting to wonder if the X6 might be a little further away than that.
