The E70 is getting the the naturally aspirated I6, not the biturbo engine.

New engine choices / replacements will come with time. Do not worry.

BMW are using the proven formula: offer the most demanded variants / options initially, then come with new engines, options, features etc

First line customers buy the car for the sake of it - many do not bother about few HP up or down, or 6" display vs 8" display, adjustable ride height etc.

When the first wave of demand is almost over, the secend line of customers is attracted: the ones who are waiting for new engines, and new options / features.

And after second wave facelift comes - which usually attracts third wave of customers: who want a proven car without initial glitches.

This time won't be different ...

As Scott says, perhaps we will get the engine eventually, but it isn't part of the frist-wave E70 line-up.

Scott, thanks for the explanation. A few questions for you:

As far as the first wave is concerned, do you mean the 07's?

If the second wave is the 08's, then when does BMW starts to build their 08's? Sept 07?

For the facelift, do you think it is correct to say that they will come in 09?

With an extra 3 more years to go, then the E70 will complete its cycle of 6 years. Is this a fair estimate?

Don't know what you mean. Its usually 7 years cycle. E53 started with MY2000 and ended with 2006.
