Any comments on if I should get the sport package on the 2007? |

if you are only using it IN NYC, you probably don't need it. but if you travel outside the city... i'd get it. besides, new model has 'sport' mode and 'normal' mode, which will have a more comfortable ride.

If you're mostly driving it in NYC, don't bother. You don't want a even firmer ride, and trust me, stiff suspension in NY roads is a nightmare. Everytime we take the X3 to NYC, it's a huge PIA. My aunt was sitting in the backseat holding her full cup of coffee as we were driving through Queens, and she looked terrified that the coffee would spill any second. Plus, you won't look forward to replacing any pothole damaged wheels/tires or worse, stolen rims.

It would be used mostly to drive to eastern Long Island and during the holidays to western PA. The demo I test drove with the sports package made the rough roads feel like I was being shelled.
Thanks for the all info. |

I live in SF and love my sports package. It handles better, I can turn faster without feeling like I am about to tip over. To each his own though. I was going to suggest that you drive both, but just remember that you can't do it just yet

i am not getting sport, because i'll be getting the E92 M3 for the fun and just drive the X5 in bad weather, my X5 will be more like a trip car, getting comfort seats : )
