07 550 "I drive" .. on a e70 also?

i have lived with i drive for over 3 years now, it was on our 04 545 and now our 07 550. I still dont like it. I have tried to like it. it just has a few features that are stupid. Like having to adjust the vent settings several times daily for heat and cool as the day warms up and then cools off. The new nav commands default back to a plain screen when you turn the car off, so here you go again clicking away to get the nav screen back up when you re-start the car. i almost dread getting the new e70 x5 in a few years because off this i drive crap, just give me 400 hp, 20" wheels, sirius, a wheel to turn for temp, a dial to turn for fan speed, and a touch screen for nav that stays engaged from engine start to engine start. whew, chucker

Yup. iDrive is standard on all E70s.

Remember, the E70 does have 8 programmable buttons.

Just setup one for "vent" settings.

Also, you do know that if you pull the iDrive knob in a direction and hold, it will go there? Example: pull the iDrive knob toward you for 2-3 seconds... entertainment menu.

I don't see the big issue with iDrive, combined with voice control I think it works great.

yup, voice doesnt work as well on 550 as it does with my 05 x5. I understand other are having this problem as well, do a google search and you'll see. You speak normal, or very clear, it doesnt matter, it still doesnt perform the function you ask it. i know you have shortcuts and such with i drive. i just find the little commands and screens to go to annoying, its a car, not a computer, chucker
