Me! Because I don't need the bigger X5.

No choice, can't afford it, or lets say don't want to part with the $$$. I have only seen pictures of the new X5 so it isn't really fair to say, but I prefer the look of the "older" body style.

I haven't driven the new models but i did walk it for about 45 minutes slamming doors, raising the hood ect ect. The newer X5 seems cheeper in some ways. The E53 style seems to have more beef. For now I'm stickin with what i have. The only way i would consider a new one is if it was diesel. Look for those in 2008.

I've driven the new X5 and regardless of the new sticker price, there really isn't anything that's going to make me part with my 4.6. This new X5 looks cheaper and doesn't have the same power as the old ones. It's just not worth it.

I will be getting one next year at this time, supposedly they will be bringing back Imola Red or a similar Red and the third row will have a sunroof, so I will wait until then but I am keeping my current X5

Never saying never, but we will stick with our old '01
3.0...it has 58K, a couple years left on an ext. warr.,
it runs fine, & was paid for back in '01, etc. Very good car.

Not anti-E70, but I don't need "bigger" and certainly
don't need the big outlay of dough for a similar one
to ours, for a differential cost of 40+Gs: trade or sell
ours and buy a new comparable E70.

When the time comes to toss our E53, I would look
hard at an X3 and espc. a diesel, if they have it here
by then. Otoh, the suv mkt has more models to pick
from then ever before...or, maybe a non-suv.

Time is on our side and no need to run out for a new
E70, for us. Everyone has there own needs and situs...
My 2cts.

My 02 4.6 has 31k miles on it (copped it in 03 with under 11k), and has been flawless. The E70s are beautiful, but I dont think I can drop 70 large on what would be a lawn ornament for me......
