the back end(dealer holdback) is probably about 6-7%. The sales guys usually make a commission on the amount over invoice. Plus they get the unit sold, which is added up at the end of the month. Plenty of money to be made....great truck.

I got $2,675.00 off the MSRP. X5 4.8 with no trade-in.
I'm tracking it in "BMW Owners' Circle" and it just went into production on Monday. ALL OPTIONS except: High Definition Radio (I have plenty of MP3s) Sirius Radio (I have plenty of MP3s) Seat Trim (I don't see a difference, can you?) Heated Rear Seats (They can wear an extra coat. hahaha) Auto Tail Gate (I want, but don't want to wait until April, hope can add later) |

Quote:
Dealer Holdback and Advertising Charges Manufacturer Holdback Amount BMW 2% of MSRP This site, that has an excellent explanation about holdbacks, indicates it's 0% for BMW. http://www.safecarguide.com/gui/neg/holdback.htm Regardless of the holdback if you are ordering a X5 the dealer saves on interest charges and some are willing pass the savings on. This added to a 9% profit margin leaves some room to negotiate. Last edited by v10rick; 12-21-2006 at 10:07 AM. |

So if I ordered my vehicle through the dealer, they saved money on that so I can use that as a bargaining tool?
