Finally 3.0si on order....

So after numerous postings on this website and great information from everyone on this forum, I signed up this morning to a 3.0si with Tech/Premium and 3rd row.....Space Grey with 2 tone Camel interior !

As I mentioned before I was considering Sports Package and Activity Package with RB but the test drive and getting in and out, made the difference in me not going for these 2 options.
Plus I get to save some $$ for winter tires in the summer when my sales consultant says he can get me an awesome deal on a set of winter rims and tires !
Being built in Feb, delivery by Mid March !....I've done this with BMW now twice and the waiting game is a real killer....

Well makes delivery day that much exciting.....

What I hope doesnt happen is that the announcement about diesel E90 doesnt make me wonder if I made the right choice while I wait for Mar....
Oh well....at least I'll be an X5 owner !.

Do you really need the third row? I strongly recromend you do not get it. It is very cumbersome, small and tight, complicates the second row operation, and changes the second row seats to a uglier unfinished look. It is a pain in the a$$. (The only reason you would need it is if you have five kids, and two are toddlers!)

Congrats!

I know what you mean about anticipation - like waiting for the ketchup to come out of the bottle!

TrueX5er:

I appreciate your concerns and was very close to not ordering it but I thought about resale, and also more importantly I like the idea of the seats reclining.
Also the middle armrest folds down into a more sophisticated cupholder/armrest in the 3rd row opted vehicle...if that makes sense....take a look:
http://carad.ebayimg.com/i20/01/a/000/77/4e/0df0_4.JPG

In the non third row, the armrest is the actual back of the middle seat and it is plain ugly when folded down with the cupholders hidden in the back of the headrest....hard to describe but easy to dislike when seen.

The middle seat in the 2nd row being set back compared to the remaining seats means that this gives also more legroom.

In anycase we will not be using the 3rd row at all ( I have only 1 son ) and so I will have peace of mind that when family with kids ever visit, I will have room for 2 more !!
