Any news of what is to come next after the new 4.8i?

I am about to get the new '08 Porsche Cayenne Turbo but would like to know what BMW has up its sleeve. I really like the looks of the new 4.8i and would wait if BMW is going to come out with a 5.0 or whatever pushing 425-450hp. Anyone have a crystal ball??

if i was you. buy a 4.8i and use the rest of the money and buy a second hand slk55 or something. if you are looking for performance. no suv is going to handle or perform like a roadster coupe or sedan. by design they are too wide too tall too heavy. i was deciding between my 4.8 and ml63 and the ml just didnt do it for me. apart from the fact its fast and has paddle shift. there was nothing in the ml that i liked.

one answer...you have to wait for both...so wait...

the 4.8is replacement won't be coming very soon...i think

the 4.6is came into the lineup two years after the 2000 model appeared, but BMW knows that they do/may have the market or the high-performance X5

Any chance of it being released before the X6 which is rumored to be released by early 08?

The "M-package" for existing models is supposed to be coming in summer. "4.8is" replacement will be late this year or early next year with the new V8. X6 will be mid-to-late-2008 and will have an ///M badge version with the new V10 with more hp than current V10.
