Where did you see this on their site?

Ironic, I just spoke to a dealership this morning that indicated this feature may be coming as of march/april production.

Saw it in the X5 section. From top click x5, then accessories along left side. $3,795.00.

ooo...nice, but seems very aftermarkety. are they just hanging off the shoulder of the seat? or is that the seat's trim?

I saw this on the BMW Canada site this weekend. Keep in mind that's $3,795 Canadian, not US $.
