Yes of course, it is removeable.
The electrical connector is on the left of the visible part (look the picture).

I like the the second hitch better.....! Concealed back behind there and removable too. That is how it should be!

Heres a European style "swan neck" towbar on another car. Kind of a sexy design. Captions anyone?
