4.8 Jerky..!

I decided to drop by the dealership and try the 4.8 ( ordered 3.0si personally )
I've been reading about the "jerkiness" happening during transmission change and thought to experience this strange phenomenon.

What a beast that engine is...!...power, roar and refinement rolled into one EXCEPT for the SUDDEN JERKS that DID actually happen from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and then none !....
Very strange for such a refined car....I dont know if it has anything to do with the timing or need for break-in period but it certainly needs to be addressed.

The E53 was jerky, what do you expect from the E70

I betcha it's starting in 2nd gear to save gas. See if sport mode or a heavier foot helps. My friend complained his 2006 325i was slower off the line than his 2004 X5 3.0i, and that was clearly attributed to the economical transmission mode.

This does not change even with 1500 miles. My 4.8 is still very eratic in shift patterns. I was wondering if others were experiencing the same problem. Thought the flex ray would eliminate any of these issues.

Flexray, is only the method of communication. It's not going to solve programming issues. You guys will have to talk to your dealers and wait for s/w updates.

Isn't the E70 already using the flexray technology?

I noticed the X5 I test drove was a bit jerky in non-sport mode, but mine isn't jerky at all.

I've only got about 50km's on my car but I'm watching for it.
