If I remember correctly... go to "Information->Travel Information->On Location choose your POI then type in the search phrase, search radius and blam. Phone numbers and all.
As soon as you select On Location it immediatly lists all the POI's nearest you. There is no option to search. Pretty lame.

Yes, it does. But you have to select it in the correct order. One path will not let you search, one will. Don't select "General Information" select "Travel Information"

You have an E70 so it might be different, but I highly doubt that they would take that feature out. Try reading through the manual, I'm sure that it's there.

No, it does not exist.

If that is true, then I am damn glad I bought an E53 right before the end of production and not an E70. Did you call the dealership?

The same dealership that wouldnt even show me the Nav? My dealership is clueless on technology items. They only stock base models of the X5.

When I asked to first test drive the X5, I asked to see a nav equiped model. He asked why I wanted to see a nav, "they are too expensive and I could get one for $500 and stick it on the windshield."

BTW- this is the same salesman that looked at me as if I couldnt afford any of his cars and didnt really want to spend time with me.

I went to another dealer in another city and paid cash.

Sorry to hear that. I had a similar experience in Fife at BMW Northwest. I already posted it here so I won't get into details. Needless to say, salesmen need to wake up. Especially here in Seattle. We have a lot of young techies with lots of money to blow.

From what I just recently discovered... the plus side on having the BMW nav system is you can maximize the voice command function for all your systems. If you don't have the nav system... you can only use vc for phone.

And yes... I agree, some of the dealers don't have a clue about the technology they're offering. I had to inquire from the guys here just to confirm what I mentioned above.
