I wonder if we can have it as a dealer installed accessory?

Yes - it can be done. $500 is the estimated retro price.

This is great info. This is exactly the kind of stuff a geek like me has been digging deeper into resources like this one for. One question though, does this or any other radio option replace the center armrest aux input? It seems like the current iPod input has to take the place of the CD changer. This new iPod/USB adapter allows you to have both. But, does this new adapter or Sat radio or HD radio (or a combination of the 3) replace the center armrest aux input? Thanks.

Jeff

My understanding is that it does not but I am still searching for more hard information on this option (althought this board does have the best so far thank you RTZ)

Does anybody have a number or know anyone at BMW we could call??? I must have this option and hate to delay order but won't if I can be assured of an available retrofit and cost.

just look at the picture... you need the AUX input in order to use the iPod, so it doesn't look like the AUX is going anywhere.

the only thing that bothers me is that it lookslike 3 menu bars take up soooooooo much space on the screen, about 50% so there's a lot less room to look at song titles and stuff -- really annoying.
