Question Comfort Access - any way to disable door handle sensors ???

Wondering if there is a way to disable them ? I just dont want the doors to lock/unlock when some pressure is applied to the door handle. Last weekend I went to a car wash place (one of those DIY places where you can just wash-off the salt), and those even low-pressure water jets were constantly locking/unlocking the doors. I can see myself (with the kids' help) locking the key inside one day by simply touching the handle...

So, it is not in the iDrive menu's settings, does anyone know any other way to disable this particular feature ?

But the key is in your pocket...so how do you get locked out?

i had the same experience at the spray car wash place... but, if the keys are in the vehicle... it will 'not' lock... it knows if the keys are inside or outside... .

But not always... The keys could be in wife's purse, which might be, at the time, inside of the car... Women dont have pant's pockets (not my wife !)

it's not supposed to lock the car if you leave the key inside (unless you have another one on you outside). try it and let us know.

The System is smart. It will not lock the car if the key is inside the car.
I have tried it myself.

To answer your original question, per the manual- at the car wash, put the key in the ignition slot or simply leave it inside the car and this wont happen.

This also addresses your concern about accidentaly locking the keys inside...because it cant happen.

You are all right. Once the keyfob inside of the car, the doors do not lock ! Even the central locking button does not do anything ! I tried leaving the key on the central console, in the ignition, with working engine, in a purse, etc - same result. I guess it is "smart"...

I remember reading on this forum about someone leaving the key in the purse and locking herself out... that is why I've asked the question.

Case closed !
