Push Start/stop Button

I'm liking this feature in combination w/ comfort access.
My only gripe with it is, when you stop and exit the car, the radio remains on unless you push start/stop twice or lock the car. I don't really see a need for this as I want to keep it unlocked when it's in the garage. I could leave the radio on and it would turn off eventually, but wouldn't that lead to an early demise of the battery?

The first day I had the vehicle i was perplexed...where the %@!*# is the off switch for the sound system! I soon realized that you can only "mute" it. I too have the comfort access,which as you know is great! Any battery drain caused by the sound system is insignificant and will not appreciately shorten the life of the battery..

I don't understand the need to insert the fob. With my friends Toyota the car unlock when he gets close and he just hits the start stop button while keeping the fob in his pocket.

Does he have a Prius?

The fob can't communicate with the car (unless you have comfort access), so you need to put it in. I don't understand why BMW didn't make a standard ignition... You can still have a laser key (or whatever you call it) and not need a push button..

Push and hold the button a little longer. It will turn everything off.

Also .. I recommend you always lock your car... in the garage or not. I also lock up my keys. In my profession I have seen what can happen. Your house gets broke into they drive away with your car full of goods.
Keeping you car lockes keeps people out in case you leave the garage door open overnight.

Inserting the fob into the dash positions the RFID in the remote so it can be read by the computer. The computer then knows you are allowed to start the vehicle.

With comfort access you do not need to insert the remote in the dash. The computer communicates with the remote by radio to determine if you can start the vehicle.

Your friends car had remote start. This is not an option on any newer BMW using RFID keys. The car needs to read the RFID in the key before it can start.

The RFID stops people from cracking the ignition and using a screwdriver to start the car.

Like Truex5er said, you don't need to insert the fob if you have comfort access.... but it will cost you $1000.00

Comfort access does do a little more too... The doors will unlock by touching the door handle and open the read hatch. Touching the door handle will also lock and roll up the windows.

also with CA you can't lock your keys in the trunk. once u have CA you'll find that having any type of key is so 90s.
