Any News on Automatic Tailgate ?

I am in Europe. I was told some month ago that we could get the Automatic Tailgate in May. Could somebody in Germany confirm this ?

PS: I have an X5 3.0d on Order fully loaded (EUR 86k) ! I will get it in June.

I was told the auto tailgate will not be available until 2008. I'm in the US.

No tailgate until '08 model, if then.

I have my order in Netherlands delayed until production somewhere end of september and delivery in november. This is because of the Autotailgate and Rear window blinds not being available. I was one of the first to order back in October, but have been hearing delays since we finalized the sale.
Still, they now seem convinced that I will be driving in november with both options.

PS I have a fully loaded 3.0D, which was originally planned for delivery in May.

Has BMW told your dealer that Sept. production will have the auto tailgate available. It sounds from your post that they are guessing.

Well, good point. But since they already had to give me 3 times a delay message they could not get away with "maybe" november.
So the did confirm that from september production (end or beginning, I don't know) I would get:
- Autotailgate
- Rear Window Blinds
- Comfort seats
- USB option

(the last 2 would be available sooner).

They also said that this is what the distributor for Netherlands has been able to confirm to them.

At no point I wanted to let go of any options, which is what they had proposed as an alternative and then they they could still deliver in May.
They obviously also have a problem because they have offered a price of my old 2001 X5, which they will now get 6 months later, costing them a couple of thousands.

But then again, this is Europe-Netherlands, so things might be different than in US, although I would expect our market to be later compared to the US.

I hope that you are not right ! That would mean that my car will come without the auto Tailgate.

The comfort Seats and I POd Interface are available Now .

Well, I'm afraid it will and I had them look into retrofitting the Autotailgate, but they said it will not work... that is why I decided to wait

Does anyone know why BMW would leave the auto tailgate out until sept build? It doesn't make sense why they limit some options until later production.

Just went to the local BMW dealer today and my sales rep told me that they are postponing the auto tailgate again, it will not make it to the Sept. production, dealer told me as of now, they have not idea when exactly the auto tailgate is going to be availble, probably sometimes in the 08?

Also, there's new brochure just came out for the X5 (more pictures and info and it's bigger than the previous one) and the accessories brochure is out as well.
