Saddle Brown / Hitch (euro)

Hello all,

I went to see the new X5 earlier this week. Here are some pictures (sorry about the quality) of Saddle Brown with polised aluminum.

For those with questions about the Euro hitch. The bumper will not be cut. I've tried to make a picture from the ground up underneath the rear bumber. The Hitch itself is located in the "spare" tire location. It is a "U-shaped" hitch that you can click in the system underneath the bumper. (after taking the cap of) on the left side you see the electronics. The beauty of it all is when you dont use your hitch you wont see anything.

Neat looking interior! You're the first to have aluminum trim! looks cool! I also think you are the first to have Saddle brown!
Do you have any exterior pics?

The car is a demo and unfortunately not mine. The new X5 will not be available officially until late march in Europe. It is the combo I ordered, delivery will be June...

Excellent design! I'm going to have the Euro hitch installed on mine when it arrives in Germany!

Great to see the Saddle Brown. The polished aluminium looks really good too. We will probably only see it here in an "is" or "M-technic" version.

Saddle brown is spectacular on that car. I don't see why BMW doesn't offer it for the X5 in the USA, you can configure a 335i with saddle brown at www.bmwusa.com no problem. Weird.

Not sure, I think different legislation on the hitch, I know there is quite a difference between US and Euro. According to the Euro registration you are allowed to tow 6000 lbs but even that can differ from country to country I guess. In addition you can choose an option (I think 233 @ Euro 150,-) that increases the towing weight on the registration to 7777 lbs . The option contains certain rear suspension setting, that's all. I havent ordered this extra option. I m just happy that the Hitch is out of sight when not used !

detachable with 13 pin adapter. factory fitted it works in conjunction with the ESP or whatever BMW call it will bring on the brakes when whatever your towing starts to snake.

The only thing with the detachable tow balls and not just BMW they are just that fraction to small

when you are towing various things like horse box , boat, trailer, caravan all have a different hitches the tow ball dose not suit them all and you get the clunk.
