Is this E70 headlamp washer?

Hi, is this the new headlamp washer or just PDC sensor? Thanks.

Wow, that is awesome. Anyone has a video of it in action? Makes me wish the e53 has something like that.

BMW has done that for a while. My 545 has it.

yes...I was at a stop light, and I cleaned the windshield as I normally do, and I hear a electric motor, and then I see two big poofs of washer fluid coming from the front of the car.....They really are high pressure washers...
It activates every third time you clean the windshield, FYI.

The PDC sensors are circled in orange

Pretty much all new BMWs that come with that feature have this style headlight washer. E53 washers are old style. I have seen the video of pop-up washers somewhere...will have to find.

That's even worse than the every 5th time (with headlamps on) on the E46/E83!!! I wish BMW would provide a seperate control switch for it........it's a huge waste of washer fluid. And most of the time, it makes the front end dirty and all stained in blue (which is visible with a light-colored exterior like White).

My old '99 9-3 convertible that I no longer own had headlight wipers. So most of the time it just smeared what ever was on the lights (bugs, mud, etc.) all around. It was humorous.
It dosen't use too much fluid, just a little bit @ high power. But it is wasteful trying to get them to activate. Didn't the E53s have a "special wash" feature where it cleaned every single window w/ a gallon of fluid? The button that made that happen now is the auto wiper button.

Basically, the E83 uses the E46 wiper stalk, which doesnt have a "spray" button. Consequently, there is a slight design flaw, since you cannot wash your front windshield without turning off your rear wiper. But that's beside the point.

Basically, if you pull the stalk with the headlamp on, it washes the windshield and each of the 4 nozzles sprays high pressure...........twice. This occurs every 5th pull. The problem happens when oh, you're driving around running errants and you never get to the 5th pull before shutting off the car. It ends up being "anytime you pull the stalk with the headlights on", it squirts out lots of fluid.
