Woodgrain Shifter

OK, at first I made fun of what I thought was a wood shifter overlay in the E70 Accessory Catalog. It was $195 - ouch.

However, I happened to stop in at my local dealer where my new X5 is still on order. They had a 3.0si with one of these shifters installed.

All I can say is that I'm glad that I ordered Bamboo, because the catalog doesn't show a Bamboo shifter - only light poplar and dark walnut, because I would NEED to order this as a dealer-installed option.

Well, it's quite nice. Leather in the back, like the shifter in my E53 has on the sides, with wood up the front and over the top.

Looks great, and I do not think that it is an overlay. They must actually remove the original silver one and install this one.
