BMW Seatbelts

What happened to seatbelts in newer BMWs? How come they're not height adjustable anymore?

I would buy that. Since the seats are fully adjustable, why put an additional adjuster in the column?

I disagree with that as my e39 5-series had both seat height adjusting and seat belt adjusters too. But I admit the logic of the suggestion is good - perhaps BMW thought the same way.

If I remember rightly the height adjustment on the E39 was automatic. If you changed the fore/aft positioning of the seat it adjusted the height of the seatbelt to match (longer legs = greater height!) - don't suppose they have used the same philosphy for the E70?

Incidentally the BMW UK website says the seatbelts are height-adjustable!

That's a bad reason, the belts should be height adjustable. The seat height adjustment is for driving position and comfort and the belt height adjustment is to adjust where the belt goes over your shoulder. It's like saying who needs an adjustable steering wheel when you can adjust the seats. It's not absolutely necessary but the adjustment should be there in a luxury vehicle like this.
