The wait is over... for now...

Thanks to several of you who suggested I wait for an '08 after they ppd the shades and 86'd the Tobacco in Feb. The dealer still hasn't called me to tell me.... I had to do something because my lease on my current car is up, so.....

I'm now driving an '04 M3 vert that I picked up for the last 8 months of the lease. I bought my wife an mp3/dvd/nav combo for her Grand Cherokee and she's happy with that- I guess we'll use that for family trips for the next 8-10 months, then who knows- maybe I'll keep the M3 and buy snow tires for the winter, keep the jeep for hauling stuff from HomeDepot and driving on those really bad days, and get an MDX for my wife all for about the same $ - hmm, I just thought of that ....

I'll drop in from time to time just to see what the buz is on this forum ... I still think the X5 is the way to go if you need an SUV but really want a sports car, but now that Ski season is winding down, I have a bit more time to drive around in an M3 with my sunglasses on and enjoy the sun while the factory works out the kinks and I rethink the situation ...

For those of you that have already gotten yours, or are already committed, congrats- I'm a bit jealous and I'll be thinking of you when I have to drive an 8 year old Grand Cherokee, and for those of you that are thinking about waiting- if it's not exactly what you want, the '08's are just a bit more than 6 months away....

How did you find this lease deal? I heard it is a great opportunity to extensively test the cars that you might wanna buy.

I found good deals on swapalease.com and leasetrader.com. There are also several other sites.... Some have nice incentives.... BMW charges $450 for the paperwork on the assumption, but you get the security deposit (or whats left of it) back at the end of the lease... there's also a hidden charge (i think it's 499) that they hit you with if you turn in car at the end of the lease... as long as you work it into the figures, its a great way to check out a vechicle with minimum commitment, plus for the most part, someone else already paid the big hit on depreciation out of the showroom ....

Still working on the pics....
