OMG...Acura MDX and Cadillac SRX beats e70???

that doesn't make sense. just got the new C/D mag today. they had a V8 SRX, GX470, LR3, and XC90. while the MDX, Touareg, ML350, and X5 3.0si were left with their 6-cylinders. interesting, only the german vehicle lacked two-cylinders...ummmm...unfair!!!

Probably went by price.

I saw that too. They used the MB & BMW 6 cylinder models becuase they're closer in price. Regardless, I agree with you - not fair...

Not just price, but overall value.

Still, when they do these types of comparisons, they should try to keep the equipment the same as much as possible - especially the number of cylinders. Comparisons based on price and value is for Consumer Reports, not enthusiast rags...

The MDX is a V6 and as far as equipment it appears you get a lot more than the X5. In Canada if I load up the new 3.0 X5 it would cost me almost $20,000 Canadian more than a loaded MDX. Thats a lot and makes one think quite a bit!

The MDX is very impressive, the technology is first class and works flawlesly, the ride is suprisingly very nice and its a great value. The X5 on the other hand is far more elegant. The one thing I couldn't get past when test driving the MDX was how ugly the interior was.

The X5 has more feature options (HUD, Comfort Access, Active Vent Seats, Ipod Integ, and PDC) but of course these drive the price way up. These options are not even available on the MDX.

The Nav and tech package on the MDX blows away the X...the voice commands work perfectly, the Nav is far simplier to use and has better features, the screen looks better and the rear camera actually works at night (can you imagine this!)

Overall though, the X5 is the winner IMO...and thats why I am driving one as are most of us on this board

I was shocked that the outdated, lemon every ten american cube SRX could get second.
As far as the MDX goes, they like buttons. Drive them all again after six months, the X5 takes it.

I agree with the others. Comparo test results or not, I doubt you'll find a group as passionate and happy with their MDX's as everyone here is with their X's.

Acuras become upgraded Honda's after a few years, a BMW is always a BMW. There's a reason they market them as the ultimate driving machines.
