My X is in, but I'm on hold for a few weeks.

I ordered in early March, the dealer had some open manufacturing "slots" coming up, so they substituted my order for an "unclaimed" car. The car is here, but my current lease on my 04 isn't up until April 30. I was already over miles, so I bought some early. The dealer isn't interested in buying out my last month, so the car will sit at the dealer for a few more weeks.

Oh well.

Had a similar thing happen when I had ordered an Audi a few years ago, car came in early and I still had a month left on a 3-series lease.. IMO, just go get it, why let your brand new car sit at the dealership for so long when you've been waiting for it.... It's only a couple weeks of overlap, if the extra cash isn't an issue.

It's not soooo much the cash.

It's just that all together, it's worth about a grand, and they weren't willing to split it or do any buy-back.

I know that I negotiated a good deal, but I would have thought that they would have been motivated to deliver the car this month.

So, they and I will wait for a few weeks before I take delivery.

Just make sure they don't turn around and sell it to someone else while you're sitting around waiting for delivery...

.
I would have thought they might have wanted to squeeze it in March and help you out a little also, but with the small margin they're willing to discount the X5's, I guess it's not worth enough to them to do so... Couple weeks goes by fast anyway, gives you a little more time to enjoy the car you have....
