Exclamation Anyone have reving problem?

I picked up my x5 about 2 weeks ago, and I noticed the engine would rev up and down slightly several times and the car inches up forward if I don't have my foot on the brake. It doesn't happen all the time but, I almost drove my car into garage door while waiting for it to open.

Ours does this exact same thing too, but only when the motor has not been warmed up. Haven't noticed it when warm, but I'm also looking for an answer to this.

Thanks for the reply, I think my engine was cold too. I went down my drive way and was coming back to get something out of my house when it happened.

Our X5 does this too. I have yet to report it to the dealer, put plan to next week. It's really annoying. Ours does this every time I back out of my garage. When I back out, and start to apply the brakes, it revs up and down, like it can't find the correct idle speed.

Same here. My 530xi did it a bit too, but only when the engine is cold. If you let it warm for a few seconds it goes away.

No problems hear, except an annoying rattle from the rear left. I think it is the trim piece resting against the back seat corner. I hear it only over bumps. The back of the leather seat is tight up against the cargo cover left trim piece. The other side is not as tight and does not rattle (creek).

This just happened today, when it was cold outside, maybe 30 degrees. It is just the engine warming up, it only happened for maybe 3 seconds. Non issue for me.
