anyone get the hitch installed by the dealer?

If you did. How much did it cost to have them do the work to install it?

Here is what you get in Europe, directly installed by BMW for +/- 900 €

Had hitch in US installed yesterday. Charges were around $1000. Problem in US is that they cut a piece out of rear bumper and it is fairly exposed after the process is complete. In other words, there is no cover piece like on the Lexus GX or the Range Rover Sport. My guess is that this will come in later models. Just make sure you are aware of this process before you take this step. I will try and post pictures later. I have seen others on this board and they were helpful to me. If anyone comes up with a cover option when hitch is not in use, please post.

Once the Hitch is installed is anything different on the backup cammera when using it? I did not notice a difference with the camera or any assistance in lining up the hitch with it.

Is there a specific way to activate it like pressing iDrive or something when backing up to the hitch?

Does that hitch come off or fold up so it's not visible? What is the towing capacity with that?

Anyone know if we can get that hitch in the US as a better option than cutting the plastic...?

When your camera is on, you press the iDrive knob, and you select the last option on the list
