Panoramic Sunroof- a must?

I have a few days left before confirming my specs ahead of my June delivery . I had left the Pano sunroof out until late last week mainly because my wife wasn't convinced about it. I kind of like sunroofs in general but have been not so interested in them in my 2 last cars .
My question is what do you guys think about the pano sunroof? Most of the board members who have taken delivery seem to have that option. My main concern is besides the cost it will be closed most of the times as when sunny (a rare occurence arguably here in the UK) the interior gets too hot and bright. Also it prevents from installing a better RSE in the ceiling as the OEM system is just poor, since I also have comfort seats, options are very limited on that front.
On the plus side, on the very many overcast days here it makes for nice natural light in the car, especially with the black headliner...
All in I am still on the fence, I have selected very many options so my 3.0D is right now at £55k....
Any views/opinions much appreciated
Thanks

C

Yes. A must - in my opinion. My wife agrees.
The sunroof is huge.

I love mine...it always gets comments from passangers. But the truth is I rarely use it. It is a very nice option for the few time I do use it though.
It allows alot of light in when it is a dark day...but the kids dont like it open as its hard to see the TV in the back seat.

I am not a big sunroof fan but the pano sunroof on the X5 is amazing. I love it - even when it's raining you can open the cover. I recommend it. The only thing I do not like is when it's open and I'm in the freeway, you hear this loud bumping sound and must roll down one of your windows to get rid of it.

You can get that sound just by having windows open the wrong ways too... I wouldn't consider that an issue related to the sunroof, just normal airflow.

I love mine. I keep the cover open all the time. It brightens up the interior even on gray days. It's great on sunny days. I open the roof even in winter.

I owned the E53 without a pan roof, now I have ordered the E70 with the pan roof having seen both, now the X has arrived but not collected. I would recommend the roof it may be a bit more to part with but you get the open feel and light regardless of the sun looks great.

I would also think it would certainly help with resale and maybe a bit on the residual it would certainly make it more desirable to any prospective buyers especially if they are choosing between a few up for sale.

So I would say get it.

I agree with all the above posts, but I like to have mine open mostly at night. There's just something cool about cruising under the stars. I also just tilt it open (opens in two places) quite often as it allows for a comfortable airflow without too much noise. Go for it!

Yet another "I agree!" post. There's really no question, in my opinion. It is awesome!

I love mine!

(L, does the late E53 have the same exact roof? I think there have to be minor changes....)
