sales must not be as expected... imo this seems very premature for bmw to run an advertised special...

(but 4k down)... its not suggested to put money down on leased vehicles.

When I went shopping for mine, the dealers had a lot full of 3.0s, and a very limited selection of 4.8s. This reminds me of when I bought my last one, when 3.0s were plentiful, but 4.4s were almost impossible to find.
