Aero Kit & Clear Bra on Spartanburg Pick-up?

I'm considering picking up a new 3.0 from the Spartanburg factory.

Do you guys know if I can arrange it to have the Aero Kit and the Clear Bra installed prior to pick-up? Or would I then have to take the vehicle (or have it delivered) to a dealership to have these items installed?

Thanks!

Yeah...thinking about having it shipped back rather than putting all of those miles on it in the first few days.

One of the salesmen I talked to said you still pay the destination charge even if you pick it up in SC. Nice, huh? Pay shipping then drive it home yourself........

I had a clear bra put on after taking delivery from Spartenburg. Check xpel.com and put in the Spartenburg zip code. There's a company called Independent Restorations thats a 5 min drive (near the Marriott you're staying at). The owner, Steve, was excellent and did a good job. I've also recommended him to several other people taking PCD on other boards as well (no kickback to me unfortunately).

BMW will not let you have the vendor do his work on their premise, so you'll have to make the short drive. Just make sure you contact him beforehand so that he can get your kit made (his friend cuts the kits) and setup an appointment.

As far as the aero kit, have your dealership send in the accessories form to Spartenburg so they can have whatever you want installed. Note that you'll have to pay for the accessories and labor thru your dealership and must be done at least 2 weeks in advance. No exceptions to this policy from what I understand.

Yes, but BMW is paying for a night in the Marriott for you and a guest; dinner that night; transportation from the airport to the hotel, and from the hotel to the PC in the morning; plus the day's training, classroom and track time with an instructor... It sounds to me like it's worth it. They will ship your car back to your dealer if you want, but it's an additional charge.

Every report I've read online about PCD has been very positive, which is why I'm doing it!

I didn't realize that, that's evens it out then... How far in advance did you have to set that up? I had been told by one of the salesmen I spoke to it wasn't always available.

you need to set it up ASAP thru your CA. Its also gonna depend on the PCD's schedule (M-F only, no weekends). I actually delayed taking delivery just so I could get the day I wanted; I ended up taking a few days to get home

Its also little known that you can now take ED and PCD for the same vehicle (obviously X5/Zs aren't included).

At what stage of production did you set it up? Mine has yet to be "scheduled for production (status 112)," so I'm assuming they can't yet schedule me for the PCD until that status changes.
