Exhaust Powder coat peeling

I have a small area on the inside of the stainless exhaust that the black powder coat is peeling. Anyone else have this. What do you suggest?

Are you talking about the interior or exterior of the exhaust and/or muffler portion? I used some high temp flat black spray paint to touch up any scratches on the muffler of my previous '04 4.4. It worked fine and is easy to use.

It is peeling on the inside lip of the stainless exhaust tips. The truck is 1 month old. It is visible from the backside.

Warranty repair/replacement by dealer, maybe? Are you sure it is actual paint or powdercoat that is peeling? Or just soot in the tailpipe?

It's peeling. The color underneath the peel is bright silver. I don't think the dealer can replace just the tailpipe, they are welded on.

Denalio - I have the same exact problem except much worse - about 50 % has peeled off. I sent it to the dealer and they where perplexed how they where going to repair. Your are correct, they are welded and BMW informed the dealer that they wont replace the entire exhaust for this.

I have a feeling that this will happen again as they probably did not prep the chrome for painting. I guess the dealer will paint, same as i could do. What a shame for a 70K vehicle.

Going back on tuesday for that and tire cupping on the front tires. I'll keep you updated.

Nice options, i have the same vehicle.

Denalio - The dealer repainted the interior of the tips black. It looks ok, well see if it lasts.

Alignment was per spec, tire wear was considered normal. They wont do a thing for me.

I only expect about 12K miles for the 20 front tires. Is this normal?
