Wipers--rain sensing or senseless vs. intermittent

I took a second test drive in the light rain yesterday (5 plus inches of rain here in CT the previous 24 hrs.) I just couldn't get the rain sensing wipers to do their job satisfactorily. They were always too fast, despite my trying to reduce the speed, while at a stop-light they quit wiping altogether. At the time I figured I just didn't know how to adjust them right, but when I reviewed the manual later online, I realized I was making the adjustments correctly. Are any of you owners having similar problems? Too bad there isn't a default standard "intermittent" setting for when the rain sensor is driving you nuts.

I spent 2 hours this afternoon driving through light to moderate rain, my wipers were fine. I agree that they are a little more active than on my 04 but they were great when I would close in on a transport and had to deal with the rooster tails coming off his wheels.

The Auto wipers work fine for me....no issues.
Much easier to activate....it took me three years to find out my '03 had them.

i think its more about preference. i like them fast, i always thought the ones on my slk were a bit too slow.
