Orange Plastic Tool Question

This is a simple question yet three salesmen at the local BMW dealer had no idea. In the trunk tool kit there is a orange plastic gizmo. No one knows what it is and I could not find it in the online owner's manual.
Anyone know?

Check out page 61 of your manual to learn how to manually release the transmission lock.

Remove the lining for the cup holder and you will see a hole. It fits in there to unlock the transmission.

Be sure to also explain to them about every other significant feature except for the cupholders which they seem to know a great deal about already.
