Sports Package - Buy or Not?

Late here, but: The 07' handles more like a Lexus imho. I would for sure get the Sports package to get a more X like feel. I wish I had it in my current 06.

Take a look at the video (Video: BMW X5 Adaptive Drive) on this page:

Its about 1/3 of the way down, watch the entire video, especially the last part. It does an excellent job of explaining the Adaptive Drive and exactly why it provides a much smother ride than the X5 w/o this feature.

Well worth the $4500 and the reason I chose the X5 over the competition...I would not buy an X5 w/o this feature.

Its a cool option, but prob one of the first of the major packages to take off of the list if $ is a concern, IMO... I am leaning towards not getting it for my X5 when i am ready to order. but I am planning on getting the premium & tech packages.

Can you buy a X5 without sport and still put the 20 rims on? IS there something technical that makes you select the sport package with the rims?

I understand, but have you driven the '07?

Personally I just dont see how someone could think the model w/o the adaptive drive has a smoother ride...I spent a great deal of time driving both and the difference is significant....subjective view or not.
