a bit disappointed that new X5 has RED BLINKERS??? is it just me???

i think it is ridiculous that BMW is now using RED blinkers/turn signals on the new X5. what' s up with that? orange blinkers are MUCH more noticable and distinguished from driving/parking lights. it is also MUCH safer to using orange hazard lights rather than red ones and orange can be seen at a noticeably farther distance.

WHY DID THEY DO THIS?? i wonder if we can correct it somehow??

Write letter to your Rep or Senator - it is the law in the US.

No, only for the front signals. I use the hazards often, I don't think they will be a problem. They are pretty bright, too. You could always get a amber cover/film.

there is no law that says you need amber turn signals in rear. it just makes sense and is better when they are!

i don't think you can get an amber cover... it's part of the whole rear light assembly and probably can't change that one area.

just a really stupid decision on bmw's part.

i agree with you... and that is a terrible mistake on their part. this may seem like a minor detail to many people, but it really is not. and it is easily a sign of a larger issue and lack of detail at BMW in general.

i used to tell myself i would NEVER buy a car with red blinkers.... so i'm really not sure what to do this time.

i can tell which cars have red blinkers and when they pump their brakes, sometimes...well many times...i think they have their turning light on. so i think they're turning, not slowing down, which is really annoying.

I'm not so sure that it's not legislation. They will need to be amber in the UK as any other colour is illegal.

Yes , Europe requires Amber Blinking Lights in the Front and in the Back.

The Blinkers look White in the Front when turned off and Red or White in the Back when turned off.
