Remote Control ?

This remote came w/ my X5...but I have no idea what it does. It does not seem to do anything. The lights flash on the remote when I push the buttons, but I dont see anything happen. It has a fan symbol, so I assumed it controlled the rear AC...but it doesnt seem to.

any ideas?

Looks like a control for the latent heat option that I believe is available in some markets

That was my first thought to, but not neccasarily heat. It may just be cabin recirculation. I did not get one. Where was it?

For heat recurculation: (/cabin recirculation on hot days)

If it is winterm and you have the heat on, and you drive for quite awhile, and lets say you make a quick stop, at the dry cleaners or gas station for example, you turn off the engine. The climate controls should go blank. Press the fan up button. The display should spring to life, and it will have three curvy arrows plus the word rest on the display. It is now blowing the reminder of the air thru the heater and into your car. So when you return it is not as cold.
