HIFI System Profesional 600 watt 16 loudspeakers

Are you happy with your standard sound system? Did anyone order the HIFI System and is it worth it? The 600 watt system is a $2700 option in AUS What do you guys think? Yes or No

If this is the same as the premium Sound System in the US, I am very pleased. Well worth the extra cost imo.

FYI- the only way to truely appreciate the Premium system is if you listen to CD's or HD Radio, otherwise if you listen to Sat Radio you wont be able to hear the difference.

I agree completely.
To get the best sound though you have to play around with the equalizer settings quite a bit.

I'm ok with the standard sytem, but I'm not really an audiophile and I won't be able to tell the difference.

My Ipod sounds great, but its important that you do the following:
1. Encode music at no lower than 256kbps
2. do not use the headphone output, find an audio connector that uses the bottom dock connection (this is a true line-out)

if you do these two things the Ipod sounds as good as the original CD.

here is the cable type:

Premium sound is definitely worth it to me, sounds pretty good. I don't know if it's as good, better, or not as good as what you can get done outside of BMW for the same money, but I leased, so it made more sense to have the factory option (gets residualized, less money out of pocket). Besides which, the less people messing with the electronics in this car, the better, in my opinion.

I went the middle road 12 speaker system lower power rated system (200 watts ?), which is standard in the US i.e the option below the Hi-Fi Professional system. For the Professional you also get an extra pair of speakers (counted as 4) in the cargo area on the pillars. I haven't got my car yet , but I was not going to settle for the standard system in AUS (6 speakers) , which I have heard sounds fine as well... I needed the tweeter (high ranges) at a minimum in a sound system.

I went for the 12 speaker system too and I am very happy. I'm no audiophile either, but my wife is and she thinks it's pretty good.
