UK dates for X5 3.0 Sd (Sport) with M Sport??

Hi all,

I want to get an E70 X5 3.0sd (Sport - twin-turbo diesel) with M Sport pack and a few other options.

I've heard that there won't be deliveries of the above until March 2008 (which seems an age away and is far too long for me!).
Can anyone please confirm whether this is the case, or if you have any ideas on how to get one sooner (I'm not averse to a European RHD import).

Thanks in advance!

Justin

Hi Justin, My dealer in Ireland has told me that customer delivery should begin in December.

The problem is that he also told me that BMW are going restrict the availability on the twin turbo. He said that BMW were only allocating 15% of total allocation to the SD so it may be hard to even get a production slot.

Having looked at some of the pics, I may alteratively opt for the 3.0sd Sport (same engine, but without the M Sport kit) but with the Aero kit and bigger wheels - not sure if that would get me one any sooner though..!

3.0 sd production start in October so Dec will be the earliest anyone will get one. I am not sure what availability is like for the M Sport vs SE with Dynamic Pack whick is what I think you're talking about? I would imagine the M Sport will have better availability as it looks worse and costs more...to quote my dealer "It looks like something from Halfords"

Thanks Fredo - I'm starting to think that myself (looks of the M Sport) - although I don't think the pics probably do it justice - black may fix it..!

True but maybe that's because black hides the styling a bit! I think the SE with the Dynamic Pack and the Aerodynamic Kit looks much better. I've had plenty of M Sport and M/// BMW's in the past but the X5 sd will be the first "standard" car I have had since I drove my first BMW 14 years ago. The M Sport just doesn't work....looks rubbish...can't believe they have got it that wrong

Those are the facts but apparently you guys on the other side of the pond just aren't worthy. BMW are obviously catering for the more cultured European motorist first!
